Image from Wikipedia Japanese American Memorial to Patriotism During World War II. It is made to commemorate the experience of American citizens of Japanese ancestry who treated unfairly. I think it's important to add this because it shows that the United States acknowledges that what they did was wrong. |
Just like the previous one, I think it is important to understand
the acknowledgement of the United States that they did something wrong.

Picture from Wikipedia I would bring the remains of the USS Arizona, a ship that was destroyed in the attacks of Pearl Harbor. As the theme of my dinner is facing your fears, I feel that it is important to for everyone at the dinner to understand just how the ordeal of the Japanese internment camps began. |

I would also bring a copy of order 9066 enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt that started everything. It makes me wonder if something like this could be accepted today. President Trump attempted something similar with the laws against middle eastern country immigration |

If I could bring anything to the dinner, I would bring a picture of Japanese internment camp to show to my guests the living conditions they lived in. |

Dr. Seuss was surprisingly anti-Japanese during WW2 and worked on political cartoons during that time. This is one that basically shows the intentions of Japanese citizens all depicted with the same basic look. They are coming from different states then taking their TNT and hoping to undermine and take over America as part of the 5th Column. |

This political cartoon was made in 1941 just after Pearl Harbor in the United States against Japan. It's an ironic statement made towards the intentions of Japanese. |

This newspaper, from The Detroit Tribune printed on May 23, 1942, is a very good representation of racism and animosity Americans felt towards Japanese citizens. It is essentially a political cartoon with some added text that further convinces the public that since they are already doomed, so they should buy War Bonds. |
