In this image, Uncle Same is holding up babies that each have text on their clothes: Philippines, , hawaii, Cuba, and Puerto Rick ("Porto Rico"). Uncle Sam, representing the United States, seems overwhelmed trying to take care of these colonies, with his hair being pulled, Cuba hanging on his overalls and overall disorder. I believe the author of this political cartoon is not an advocate of imperialism as he/she is trying to say that the the expansion of the United States has grown far too great and it is starting to get out of hand.
This picture depicts Uncle Sam again but this time carrying a lot of materials from steel rails to books labeled education with what appears to be price tags. He is carrying these items across the Philippines to what appears to be China with signs that contain list of resources need such as 50,000,000 sewing machines. With the price tags and the tiresome expression on Uncle Sam's face, it is clear that the author does not approve of imperialism, believing that it is a waist of resources and money.
Judging by the before and after of the countries/territories that the United States took over, the author is clearly attempting to justify US imperialism. Before, we see Hawaiian slaves, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Philippines hunched over with Spanish Oppression on their backs. After the United States, their all standing tall with fancy clothes and money.
